Cabinets.com kitchen cabinets are constructed using carefully selected Northern Hardrock Maple or Northern Central Cherry (MANUFACTURED IN THE USA). It’s important to remember wood is a naturally grown product and will have imperfections and variations. Every species exhibits characteristics including: knots, pinholes, sap runs.

Maple
Maple cabinet door

  • Characterized by creamy white, light blonde, and dark reddish-brown tones.
  • Frequent variations within a single door and side by side cabinets, especially on lighter stains.
  • Natural characteristics like fine brown lines, wavy or curly graining, bird’s eye dots, and streaks will darken when stained.
  • Typically features uniform graining

Cherry
Cherry cabinet door

  • Characterized by red undertones with sap pockets, pin knots, curly graining and streaks.
  • Frequent variations within a single door and side-by-side cabinets.
  • Staining reveals subtle variations and colors that typically darken over time.
  • Color ranges from pale yellow sapwood to deep reddish-brown heartwood, with occasional shades of white, green pink, or even gray.
  • May accept nicks and bumps over time
